Quarter-finals confirmed: EHC Lustenau to face ATSE Graz - Kapfenberg select EHC Kundl
Following the conclusion of the Ö Eishockey Liga regular season on Sunday, the playoff pick took place. After the Pick Round, the eagerly anticipated inter-regional quarter-final match-ups have been confirmed. Division West winners EHC Lustenau selected ATSE Graz. Division East winners Kapfenberg chose EHC Kundl. This resulted in the other two quarter-final match-ups: defending champions Sharks Gmunden will face HC Kufstein, as they did last year. SC Hohenems will take on last year's semi-final opponents WEV. The playoff quarter-finals, which will be decided in a Best-of-Three series (H/A/H), begin on Saturday, 07 February 2026.

The dominant winners of Division West - EHC Lustenau - selected the fourth-placed team from Division East for the first playoff round - ATSE Graz. The KSV Kängurus selected the fourth-placed team from Division West as Division East winners - EHC Kundl.
This resulted in the remaining two quarter-final match-ups: defending champions UEHV CAM4DENT Sharks Gmunden will face HC Kufstein in the last eight, as they did last year. Kufstein will be eager for revenge after last year's elimination against the eventual champions from Upper Austria. Back then, the Tyroleans claimed a 4:0 win in Gmunden in the quarter-finals, but suffered a 1:6 defeat in the return leg at home in the Eisarena Kufstein in a quarter-final played in Champions Hockey League format.
The reigning runners-up SC Samina Hohenems will play last year's semi-final opponents Wiener Eislauf-Verein. Last season, the Vorarlberg side won their home game 3:0; in the return leg in Vienna at the Heumarkt, the Steinböcke won 1:0 to advance to the final.
This year, the playoff match-ups, from the quarter-finals through the semi-finals to the final, will for the first time each be decided in a Best-of-Three series (H/A/H). The teams that record two wins first will advance to the semi-finals. The second game of the series is scheduled for Saturday, 14 February 2026. Should a third and decisive game be required in the quarter-finals, it will be played on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, or Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

Play-off format and further dates
The play-off match-ups, from the quarter-finals through the semi-finals to the final, will each be decided in a best-of-three series (H/A/H). The teams that record two wins first advance to the semi-finals. If the scores are level after regulation time, a five-minute three-on-three overtime will be played, as in the regular season. Should the overtime also fail to produce a winner, a penalty shoot-out will follow.
