Quarter-final action gets under way in domestic junior leagues

In the U20i, defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg face Ujpesti Jegkorong Akademia and have home-ice advantage to start the series. The young Bulls finished phase 2 in 2nd place behind EC-KAC and won all four of their games against the Hungarians this season, although two of those victories only came in overtime. EC-KAC open against Icehawks Hockey Club, who prevailed over Eishockey Akademie Oberösterreich in the pre-playoffs. 

U20i quarter-final schedule

Salzburg enter the U18i playoffs not only as defending champions, but also as strong favourites to lift the championship trophy following their results in phase 1 and phase 2 of this season's championship. They suffered just one defeat in 35 games – on 13 December, they lost 3:6 away to EC-KAC, but avenged the defeat less than 24 hours later with a 5:1 win over the Red Jackets. Like their U20 team-mates, they begin the quarter-finals with a home game against a Hungarian team, facing DVTK Jegesmedvek Jegkorong Sp on Saturday. Behind the Bulls, Ujpesti Jegkorong Akademia finished in 2nd place and will face the Vienna Capitals in the quarter-finals. 

U18i quarter-final schedule

With just four defeats in 30 games, Eishockey Akademie Oberösterreich finished the U17 regular season top of the table, three points ahead of EC Red Bull Salzburg. Well behind them, Okanagan Hockey Academy and Eishockey Akademie Steiermark finished level on points in 3rd and 4th place respectively. As seven teams started the U17 season, the Upper Austrians will skip the quarter-finals and only enter the playoffs in the semi-finals. U17 quarter-final schedule

EC-KAC, SPG OHA/LAS and EC IDM VSV were involved in a genuine three-way battle for the regular-season win. KAC eventually secured 1st place thanks to their head-to-head victory over SPG OHA/LAS. They now face Steel Wings Linz in the quarter-finals.

U15 quarter-final schedule

EC-KAC also secured top spot in both the regular season and phase 2 of the U13. They begin their quarter-final campaign against EAC Junior Capitals this weekend, while second-placed "Rockit-Apfel" Graz99 Juniors face EC Lower Austria Stars.
