In order to prepare optimally for the ice and conditions in January, Radenthein hosted a 4-Nations Tournament last weekend. It represented the ideal dress rehearsal for both the team and the World Championship organisers.

The field was top-class, featuring the two Top Division nations Czechia and Germany, as well as Division 1A nation Norway.

Austria were also unable to field their strongest line-up. They were beaten in all three games, but General Manager Martin Kogler's assessment remains positive: "Given the high-quality field and the fact that some strong players were missing, the results should not be viewed negatively. It was also a good organisational test run with a view to the World Championship."

Czechia won the Granatium Trophy ahead of Germany, Norway and Austria.

From 10 to 16 January 2022, Radenthein will host the 2022 IIHF Women's U18 World Championship Division 1B. The Austrians' declared objective: promotion! Their opponents: Denmark, Taiwan, China, Poland and South Korea.

Particularly pleasing: the women's U16 national team were also back in action for the first time since February 2020 this weekend, while the women's U14 national team played for the first time since April 2019!
