PEER project receives generous support as part of the "End of Summer Night"

PEER, the programme for developing ice hockey regions, aims to give kindergarten children aged 5 the opportunity to gain their first experience on the ice over a period of several months. The initial focus is on learning to move safely on the ice, before the children are gradually introduced to ice hockey step by step. As part of the charitable "End of Summer Night" hosted by auditing and tax consultancy firm Crowe SOT, President Klaus Hartmann secured support for this project.

Charity, cuisine, a lakeside setting and music formed the perfect mix for a special event at the Stiftsschmiede in Ossiach. With the sum of € 15.000, which was increased to € 20.000 by sponsors over the course of the evening, Crowe SOT is supporting a total of five sports projects – from football, handball, judo and skiing to ice hockey.

With PEER, the ÖEHV is on a very good path. Municipalities, clubs, kindergartens and parents are enthusiastic. The children can indulge their natural urge to move and gain their first experience on the ice in the presence of a competent coaching team AND the trusted adults from their kindergarten. The coordination challenges of moving on the unfamiliar surface of the ice lead to a significant improvement in dexterity and agility. PEER therefore also contributes to preventive healthcare.
