Para ice hockey show­cased at Integra in Wels

Visitors with and without disabilities had the opportunity to get active themselves and discover this fascinating sport. Using special sledges, they were able to gain some initial experience and find out what it feels like to play para ice hockey.

The chance to shoot at goal and experience both the challenges and the fun of this dynamic sport first-hand proved particularly popular.

A special highlight was the use of the new ‘Wheel Kid’. This innovative device allowed participants to move around the sports zone in a sledge even away from the ice. It gave them a realistic feel for how the sledge behaves and moves, allowing them to discover the basics of para ice hockey through play.

Organiser Libor Fischer was supported by national team player Kevin Siess, who was available throughout the event to answer visitors’ questions about para ice hockey. Drawing on his national team experience, he provided fascinating insights into training and competition.

The presentation attracted great interest and impressively demonstrated how inclusive sport connects people and opens up new perspectives. Numerous visitors took the opportunity to get involved, ask questions and learn more about the possibilities offered by para sport. The successful appearance at Integra once again underlined the importance of visibility, personal encounters and inclusion in action through sport.
