Para ice hockey: KAC and Graz99ers play for the 2026 championship title
The best-of-three Para ice hockey championship series could already be decided this weekend. Defending champions KAC and the Graz99ers will play two games on Saturday and Sunday at the Sepp Puschnig Halle in Klagenfurt. A potential deciding game is scheduled for 7 March.

The regular season was strengthened this year by the addition of an Italian team, the South Tyrol Eaglse. With seven wins and just one defeat, the Eagles also finished the season in 1st place. KAC inflicted the Italians' only dropped points, winning 3:2 in a penalty shoot-out at the beginning of February.
The defending champions see themselves as favourites against the Styrians. Last year, they won the Best of three series with 6:2 and 3:1 victories. They also came out on top in both of their only two regular-season meetings with the 99ers. In December, the Carinthians had to cancel the scheduled return fixtures. These were each awarded as 5:0 forfeits to the Graz99ers.
A fightback is therefore the motto for the visitors, who must now leave everything on the ice after going without a win in the regular season. At times, they were not far from victory, and perhaps it will come together at the decisive moment.
