Para ice hockey inspires at the integra trade fair

As part of the integra trade fair, ÖBSV organised a hands-on zone where visitors could try out and discover new sports over three days. A particular highlight on Thursday was the Schoool Games, in which 113 sports-loving children and young people with disabilities from Upper Austria took part.

Across around 16.000 square metres, visitors were able to discover innovative products and services, attend talks and workshops, try out new technologies and make contacts with experts. Disability sport was also given a large-scale platform in the “Sportzone – powered by Ottobock”.

ÖBSV physical activity and information coach and ÖEHV Para-Hockey Team Manager Libor Fischer was responsible for organising the Sportzone and the Schoool Games: “This year, 15 clubs presented themselves in the Sportzone, offering a wonderful insight into the world of disability sport through disciplines such as archery, ice hockey, bowling and wheelchair tennis. There was great interest, not least because we actively approached visitors and invited them into our zone. In wheelchair rugby, people with and without disabilities played together and had great fun. That is how it should be.”

Para ice hockey had its own stand, where everyone interested could sit in a makeshift sled and have their first attempts with a stick and puck.
