UEHV RAUCH Technology Sharks Gmunden and Wiener Eislauf-Verein engaged in an open end-to-end contest over the first two periods. The Viennese made the better start to the game and led 2:0 through goals from Maximilian Boyer and Cedric Ehrenreich. The Sharks then launched an attack in their Shark Tank, scoring three times in succession. In the 16th minute of the game, Vladimir Zvonik went on a solo run and found the net to make it 1:2 for Gmunden. Mark Marton scored the equaliser for 2:2. Lucas Burzin was able to respond once more to the home side's lead. The sharks from Lake Traun then launched their final attack. Martin Brabec and Ian Motil sealed the 5:3 home win.
Thomas Schatzl, chairman of UEHV RAUCH Technology Sharks Gmunden: "Our players have shown a clear upward trend in recent games. Today in particular, our squad was almost at full strength and showed what this team is capable of in the win over WEV. The motivation is one hundred per cent, and I can only congratulate our Sharks!"
In the South group, ESC SoccerZone Steindorf were able to celebrate successful revenge for their surprising 5:7 opening defeat. The “terrible” Nico twins, Nico Goja and Nico Toff, were the key players alongside Ruslan Gelfanov and Patrick Ropatsch in the clear 5:1 home win over the Young Eagles of EC GRAND Immo VSV.
EC LiWoDruck Spittal were also able to make amends against the Rhinos of 1. EHC Althofen for their 2:4 opening defeat. The game was evenly balanced until shortly after the halfway point, when Daniel Nageler and company established clear control. Marco Zorec put the Hornets on the road to victory at 3:2. In the end, Spittal won 6:2.
USC Pirates Velden celebrated a resounding 9:2 win over UECR Eisbären Huben. The team from the western shore of Lake Wörthersee, which features several well-known former Bundesliga players in the league, showed from the outset that the Pirates are not to be taken lightly. Christian Ban, Daniel Wachter, Valentin Leiler, Christian Pessentheiner and company unleashed an attacking storm that the East Tyrolean Eisbären had no answer to that evening.
In the West group, EHC Crocodiles Kundl celebrated a 6:3 win at HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie II. The Crocodiles' away victory was already in the bag after 40 minutes.
