The UEHV RAUCH Technology Sharks Gmunden match against Kapfenberger SV EHC was abandoned due to force majeure on Austrian National Day, with the hosts leading 2:1 after the second period, as the ice resurfacer broke down.

The abandoned game will now resume with the third period on Tuesday, 2 November 2021 at 19:30 at Eishalle Gmunden. The two clubs agreed on this date after reviewing the competition regulations. Both teams must field the line-up that was already listed on the game sheet on 26 October.

Sharks Gmunden delivered a tremendous performance for two periods against Kapfenberg, the Group North-East leaders. After the visitors took the lead through Pierre Graf after just under three minutes, the Upper Austrians turned the game around in the opening period. Nicolai Obojes scored in the 15th minute and Philipp Wieltsch added another one minute before the end of the period to make it 2:1. Until the game was abandoned, the home side failed to seal the result in the second period.
