ÖEHV Youth Leagues: EC KAC crowned U20i League cham­pions after sweep against Jesenice!

The Red Jackets, who had narrowly won their two home games 3:2 and 5:4, left no doubt from the outset in the away game in Jesenice as to who would leave the ice as champions. Marcel Vodnjov, with a shorthanded goal (15'), and Ben Öfner (18') established a 2:0 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second period, Head Coach Roger Öhman’s team continued to apply the pressure and initially opened up a comfortable four-goal lead. Johannes Dobrovolny made it 3:0 (34') and, shortly afterwards on the power play, 4:0 (36'). Martin Rožič reduced the deficit to 1:4 (38'). Just 36 seconds after the Slovenian goal, Filip Simovic made it 5:1 for the young Klagenfurt side (38').

In the final period, the red-and-white defence, together with netminder Jon Kavčič, also kept things under control. On the contrary: Tristan Schall scored to make it 6:1 (47'). EC KAC’s U20 ultimately won 6:1, completed a sweep for a 3:0 series win in the best-of-five series and are Austrian champions of the ÖEHV U20 International League 2025/2026.
