“The new ÖOC Executive Committee is taking on a great legacy. Together with our new President Horst Nussbaumer, we will continue the good work of Karl Stoss and his team and ensure that the best possible conditions are created for our athletes to achieve future top performances and win medals,” explains Yasmin Stepina.

From 1999 to 2008, the Carinthian played for the Sabres, won multiple championships and also took to the ice for the Austrian national team, with whom she earned promotion from Division II to Division I in 2008. Following her active career, she worked as a coach with several youth selections and, since 2020, has been responsible for women’s hockey, parasport and sports medicine as Vice-President on the ÖEHV Executive Committee.

Alongside her success on the ice, Yasmin Stepina also demonstrated her sporting talent in sailing, claiming victories at Austrian championships in various classes.

The 37-year-old works in the Climate and Energy Department of the City of Baden.

Yasmin Stepina: “Ice hockey is one of Austria’s most traditional and popular sports. The ÖEHV itself is one of Austria’s largest sports associations and has also always been represented on the ÖOC Executive Board in recent terms. I am delighted to continue contributing the experience and knowledge of our association to the further development of the ÖOC and international sport. Women’s sport is on the rise. It is up to us to harness and realise the opportunities and potential.”
