ÖEHV receives funding for the “Para Ice Hockey – Relaunch through Inclusion” project

The Austrian Ice Hockey Federation (ÖEHV) has received a funding commitment for its “Para Ice Hockey – Relaunch through Inclusion” project as part of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport’s “Innovation Call 2026 – Equality. Integration. Inclusion.” The project aims to systematically expand and establish para ice hockey in Austria as an inclusive sporting opportunity over the long term.

The focus is on creating conditions that enable people with and without disabilities to take part in sport together and participate equally in club life. To this end, a dedicated training structure for para ice hockey coaches will be established, while regular further training courses will also be offered. In addition, ice hockey sledges and the necessary specialist equipment will be provided to make the sport more accessible.

The project was developed by Sports Director Martin Kogler together with Team Manager Libor Fischer. A comprehensive concept aimed at the sustainable development of para ice hockey and making the sport more accessible was devised during several joint meetings.
