ÖEHV Exec­u­tive Board re-elected for a further 4 years

With no opposing candidates, the current Executive Board was confirmed in office for a further four years.

Klaus Hartmann: “We are delighted to have been re-elected, as we do not believe we have reached our goal yet and still have several steps ahead of us. There are still promises from our first election that need to be delivered. The greatest achievements of the past four years are undoubtedly the sporting successes of our women's and men's teams.”

Successful first term in office

Although the Executive Board's start in the summer of 2020 was initially shaped by the COVID19 pandemic, it quickly set about delivering on the election promises made at the time. With the new squad regulation, the new training compensation system, the return of youth leagues to ÖEHV responsibility, the launch of the federation's own OTT platform LIVE.eishockey.at, the creation of the Head of Youth Training and Development position, the new “Rot-Weiß-Rote Faden” training concept and, above all, the sporting successes, the assessment of the first term in office was accordingly very positive.

For the next four years, the objective is to refine what has been achieved, introduce a Head of Goalkeeper-Development and increase revenue from marketing and sponsorship.

“The aforementioned successes of our national teams have increased our visibility and the support we receive from fans and the media. We need to turn this positive momentum into financial gains and generate corresponding revenue through sponsorship. We will also intensify our political lobbying, as we have considerable ground to make up in terms of infrastructure and are calling for a clear commitment to sport from politicians. The cancellation of the summer camps is temporary. We will look to return to the full programme of activities as soon as possible. Another key point is the Federal Performance Centre for women's ice hockey currently being established here in Villach, where we intend to commence operations in 2026. Our recruitment figures are not poor. At the same time, we are recording a high drop-out rate among young people due to the heavy demands of school. We need to find ways to reconcile school or education and sport,” explains ÖEHV President Klaus Hartmann.
