ÖEHV brings in Georg Steinschnack for media and events

The Austrian Ice Hockey Federation is pleased to welcome a new colleague: Georg Steinschnack has strengthened ÖEHV in the area of storytelling & event management since September. Together with Johannes Pressler, who became the new press officer in August, Steinschnack will form ÖEHV's media team going forward and take charge of the social media channels. He is also part of the event team and, in this role, is responsible for organising the men's national team's home games in spring 2027.

Georg Steinschnack, aged 25, was born and raised in Ried im Innkreis (Upper Austria) and has lived in Vienna since 2021. During this time, he completed a Bachelor's degree in “Journalism and Public Relations” at FH Wiener Neustadt. Alongside his role at ÖEHV, he will complete his Master's degree in sports, cultural and event management at FH Kufstein.

Steinschnack took his first professional steps as a freelance contributor in the Innviertel newsroom of the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten. During his time at the OÖN, he also gained valuable experience in public relations through a two-month internship with the Austrian Football Bundesliga. In February 2025, Steinschnack moved to the sports desk of "Heute". There, he reported live from Cortina d’Ampezzo on the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, among other events, and was jointly responsible for online coverage of the FIFA World Cup in North America. Since September, Steinschnack has now been working in his new role at ÖEHV.

Georg has integrated perfectly into the team from day one, and together we are looking ahead to the upcoming tasks – such as the historic Women's World Championship in Denmark, the men's U20 World Championship in Budapest and the 2027 international season."
