NHL role for Penker
Goaltending coach Jürgen Penker will in future work as a scout for NHL club the Florida Panthers.

A door to the best ice hockey league in the world has opened for Jürgen Penker. The goaltending coach of the Austrian U20 national team and the Steinbach Black Wings will in future support the Florida Panthers' NHL team.
The 38-year-old from Vorarlberg will join the goaltending department of Canadian NHL legend Robert Luongo as a scout. “As a player, it was always my dream to one day play for an NHL team. Now the time has come for me to be part of an NHL organisation and for that dream to come true,” Penker said on the Black Wings website, where he will remain as a coach.
Since November 2019, Luongo has served as an adviser to General Manager Bill Zito with the Florida Panthers. In this role, he oversees all goaltenders in the NHL organisation and is responsible for training, development and scouting.
