Following the league's expansion to 14 teams, the ICE Hockey League has unveiled the new format, which will be used from the 2021/2022 season.
The season will start on Friday, 17 September 2021. The regular season will consist of two double round-robins, with 52 games per team in each. This means 26 guaranteed home games per team, and therefore at least one more than in the previous season, which still included an intermediate round.
All 14 teams will therefore play each other four times, in a total of 364 games. The regular matchdays of Tuesday, Friday and Sunday will be retained.
