The Vorarlberg native is currently still keeping fit at home. The fact that the issue of a new contract has now been settled also allows Rossi to breathe a sigh of relief: “I’m relieved that it has now been sorted out. It is a great feeling. Now I can fully focus on the sport again.”
Marco Rossi contributed a total of 26 goals and 37 assists last season. With 24 goals and 36 assists in the regular season, he was the Wild’s second-highest scorer. They selected him ninth overall in the 2020 NHL Draft.
He will continue scoring goals for the team for at least another three years and ranks fourth on the club’s internal salary list with his new contract.
As usual, Marco Rossi sets his sights high: “I always think from year to year and do not think today about what will happen in the third year. My focus is entirely on the team. I’m already looking forward to going back over and seeing the guys. We have a lot planned. The ultimate goal, of course, is to win the Stanley Cup.”
Rossi will travel to North America in the first week of September, with the world’s top ice hockey league getting under way on 7 October.
