Mammoth programme

The bet-at-home ICE Hockey League has adapted its schedule for the coming weeks. A new version has been drawn up for the period from 8 November to 16 December, with all games postponed as a medical precaution rescheduled.

In order to allow for appropriate recovery periods and road trips, only 16 of the games scheduled for this period could be confirmed on their original dates. With Round 25 on 18 December, the league is set to return to regular operations. Due to the current situation in connection with Covid-19 and in order to safeguard everyone's health, further short-notice changes to the schedule may still be made.

With just one exception – Monday, 16 November – the new schedule provides for at least one game every day. In addition to the main matchdays (Friday and Sunday), several fixtures have been scheduled, particularly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All games not broadcast by TV partners PULS24 and Sky Sport Austria will be made available as an online video stream. In this context, standard start times may be changed.

"I am very pleased that the course of the illness among players and staff has been largely mild and that, day by day, we are receiving 'fit to play' notifications for more players and, ultimately, teams. In cooperation with the clubs and their team doctors, we have now adapted the schedule to allow for the postponed fixtures to be made up quickly. Nevertheless, the health of everyone involved remains the priority and we will, of course, continue to act responsibly," President Jochen Pildner-Steinburg summarised.

Since the start of the season on 25 September, a total of 25 of 60 games have been postponed due to Covid-19-related medical precautions. Two fixtures have been brought forward in recent weeks, meaning that 37 games have now been completed.
