The first major move has been announced right at the start of NHL free agency! 38-year-old Henrik Lundqvist will join the Washington Capitals, a direct divisional rival. The goaltender spent his entire NHL career with the New York Rangers, making a total of 1.017 appearances for them over 15 years.
Following the buyout, the Swede has signed a one-year contract with the 2017/18 Stanley Cup winners, worth an annual salary of $ 1,5 million.
