Lucas Herrnegger remains head coach of the Para Ice Hockey National Team for the 2025/2026 season
Austria’s Para Ice Hockey National Team is banking on continuity. Lucas Herrnegger will remain head coach for the 2025/2026 season and lead the team to the World Championship.

In autumn 2022, Carinthian-born Lucas Herrnegger, who came through the KAC youth system both as a player and a coach, joined the Para National Team as head coach. Hernegger is now entering his fourth season as head coach.
“We are already well into planning for next season, with many warm-up games scheduled to help us move closer to the top. In August, we will have our first team camp in Villach. We will start the new season full of enthusiasm and motivation and take another step forward. We have the right characters in the team and are already looking forward to getting back on the ice,” said Herrnegger.
