Linesman David Nothegger officiates his 500th league game
In the EC Red Bull Salzburg vs. EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV clash, David Nothegger celebrates a special anniversary: his 500th appearance in the win2day ICE Hockey League. “I associate this game with many emotions – above all pride in what I have achieved and gratitude for the experiences I have been able to gain over all these years. I would particularly like to thank my family and friends, who have supported me for so long,” the 34-year-old said in a league interview.

ÖEHV Referee in Chief Gerhard Schiffauer, together with Viktor Trilar, Director of Officiating of the win2day ICE Hockey League, will honour David Nothegger for 500 appearances during the game: "David has successfully completed many international assignments and play-off finals and has been an integral part of our pool of game officials in the win2day ICE Hockey League for years. He can rightly be described as a role model for future generations. On behalf of my colleagues, I wish him many more assignments in the future."
The Pinzgau native officiated his first league game on 1st January 2012 in Villach. That debut remained painfully memorable after he crashed into the boards in the second period and dislocated his shoulder.
David Nothegger has also already gained experience at World Championship level, officiating at the 2023 World Championship in Tampere (FIN) and Riga (LAT).
The Austrian Ice Hockey Federation warmly congratulates him on this career milestone and wishes David Nothegger many more hundreds of successful games on the national and international stage.
