Light­ning on the verge of reaching the final

Tampa Bay Lightning have one foot in the Stanley Cup Final.

In Edmonton, the team wins game five of the "best-of-seven" series convincingly, 4:1, extending its lead in the series to 3:1. Tampa Bay can therefore secure its place in the final as early as Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The Islanders even take the lead through Brock Nelson (32), but Blake Coleman just 15 seconds later and Ondrej Palat another twelve seconds after that score three goals within 27 seconds to give the Lightning a 2:1 lead. In the third period, Brayden Point (44) and Patrick Maroon (58) seal the win.
