Leon Sommer, Jakob Mitsch, Armin Preiser and Julian Pusnik called up for the December Break

"We have an interesting group of young players," says Roger Bader with satisfaction. Following their participation in the Deutschland Cup last November, the Head Coach will take to the ice with a prospect team this December. The squad includes debutants, players who have already gained experience with the senior national team, and Benjamin Baumgartner, David Maier and Kilian Zündel, three players who were part of the successful 2022 World Championship team. 

Jakob Mitsch, who has been called up from Steinbach Black Wings Linz, is among the team debutants. Leon Sommer, Armin Preiser and Julian Pusnik, who were also called up following withdrawals, have already taken to the ice in the national team jersey. 

"In total, we have six newcomers in the team (note: Jacob Pfeffer, Bernhard Posch, Paul Stapelfeldt, Clemens Krainz, Benjamin Lanzinger & Jakob Mitsch). Every player has the opportunity this week to show what they can do and learn how things work in the senior national team. We want to play two good games against Hungary and we want to win them," explains Roger Bader.

Hungary will also arrive with a young prospect team. There are four on-ice training sessions scheduled before the opening face-off against our neighbours, Roger Bader: "We have four training sessions to practise how we want to play, while also building up good pace and intensity that we then want to carry into the games."
