On Saturday, Lakers Kärnten suffered a painful 0:5 defeat in the opening game of the win2day AWHL placement round. A day later, however, the Carinthians showed a marked improvement and prevailed 2:1 against the KSV Highlanders. Ida Normark gave the Lakers the lead on the power play in the first period. After a scoreless middle period, the Highlanders initially equalised before Christina Schussen scored the winning goal.

The Graz99ers Huskies spoiled the win2day AWHL debut of the Villach Lady Hawks. The Graz side made a strong start to the game and built a 2:0 lead in the opening eight minutes before Liga Miljone scored the Lady Hawks’ first goal. The Styrians were undeterred, however, extending their lead to 5:1 by the 24th minute. Tamara Grascher had already completed a hat-trick by that point. The Lady Hawks battled back and narrowed the gap to 3:5, but ultimately fell to a 3:6 defeat.
