KAC Para Ice Hockey claim commanding win in Graz

In an intensely contested game, KAC once again set the course for victory early on. Sandro Kalegaris put the visitors 1:0 ahead in the second minute of play. Kalegaris was the outstanding player on the ice throughout the game, making a major contribution to Klagenfurt's success with six goals and two assists. Despite falling behind early, Graz 99ers were not discouraged. The hosts resisted Klagenfurt's attacking power with great commitment. Goalkeeper Sascha Hovorka in particular produced a spirited performance with 23 saves, preventing an even heavier defeat.

Nevertheless, the difference in playing style was clear to see. KAC controlled proceedings and put the Graz defence under pressure with swift combination play. With 32 shots on the hosts' goal and clinical finishing, the Klagenfurt side showed why they are currently the benchmark in these match-ups.

KAC's superiority was also evident on special teams. While Graz failed to score on their three power-play opportunities, Klagenfurt converted one of their two power plays. Alongside Kalegaris, Kai Habeler also made the scoresheet with two goals, while Timo Ropp, Thomas Schilcher and Stefan Eberdorfer registered assists.

Graz fought with plenty of heart and commitment, but often lacked the final touch of precision in front of goal. Captain Werner Winkler and his team defended bravely and tried to create opportunities of their own. The tireless efforts of the Graz players, who never gave up, deserve respect and show that the team has potential for the future. For KAC, it was a highly successful weekend.
