KAC Para Eishockey edge Graz99ers Para Eishockey in the first final!

In ten meetings on the ice, the Red Jackets from Klagenfurt won nine times; on 7 December 2024, Graz pulled off the surprise and their only victory with a narrow 5:4 win. For large parts of the season, the defending champions from Carinthia were clearly the superior team, but Styria were able to push KAC all the way in two further meetings, both of which they lost 0:3.

On Saturday, Graz gave the overwhelming favourites from Klagenfurt a real scare in the first game of the best-of-three series, narrowly losing 1:3 at the Merkur Eisstadion in Graz. KAC took a 2:0 lead in the first period through goals from Kai Habeler (7.) and Florian Planker (11.). Planker struck again in the second period to extend the visitors' lead to 3:0 (21.).

In the final period, Werner Winkler scored to make it 1:3 for Graz (42.). The Styrians won the final period 1:0, but could not turn the game around.

The champions of the 2024/2025 season could be decided as early as Sunday, when the second match takes place in the Carinthian capital. Should the series be tied after the two games, the third and decisive match will be played in Klagenfurt on Saturday, 22 March 2025.
