At U16 level, Johannes Leitner succeeds his colleague Peter Schweda. Leitner had already served as an Assistant Coach at the European Youth Olympic Festival: “It is a great honour to be entrusted with this role. We want to use every day with the national team to introduce and prepare the young players for the level of international ice hockey, both in terms of our style of play and our standards and principles,” said Leitner.

The 29-year-old Viennese is looking forward to the challenge with the U16: "I am very grateful to have been able to gain a great deal of experience across various age groups over the past few years. I am looking forward to supporting the next generation on their journey together with our staff."
