Head Coach Bröms focuses on own game for World Championship
With two wins and 24 players in tow, Women’s Head Coach Alexander Bröms and his team will travel to Shenzhen (CHN) on Saturday for the World Championship Division IA. On 17 August at 11:15 (17:15 local time), they will play one final warm-up game against Denmark before opening their World Championship campaign against Norway on 20 August at 10:30, live on LIVE.eishockey.at. Ahead of the departure for China, Alexander Bröms answered some more questions.

What lessons have you taken from last week’s team camp and the two wins against Italy?
Alexander Bröms: "Less lessons than a reminder of how important it is to play every shift and read the game. We have worked on our ‘DNA’ throughout the season, and that is how we must perform every time we represent Austria."
What is the specific objective for the World Championship Division IA?
Alexander Bröms: "I know people are looking for a different answer, but the objective will be to focus on the things we can control and that will help us deliver a good performance in every shift, every period and every game."
The team travels to China on Saturday. How confident are you that the targets set can be achieved?
Alexander Bröms: "I am confident that the entire team, players and staff, have the right mindset and that we will always support one another in order to achieve our goals."
A final warm-up game against Denmark follows on 17 August. Is another win important for confidence and morale, or do certain elements of your own game take priority?
Alexander Bröms: "The most important thing is that we find the rhythm in our game and prepare for the tournament, so the focus is once again on ourselves and what we can control."
Who do you see as the biggest rivals in the battle for promotion to the Top Division?
Alexander Bröms: "That is really difficult to say. I know that all the teams in the group are good. We have to produce our personal best every day and do our best to control what we can control."
