HC KufsteinHC Kufstein secured three points in their second match too, following their opening win against reigning champions Wattens - Penguins, with a 5:2 away victory at VEU Feldkirch.

Joonatan Kyllönen gave the Vorarlberg side an early 1:0 lead in their Ö Eishockey Liga home debut at the Vorarlberghalle. However, the Dragons were not intimidated by conceding and turned the game around in the first period. Czech new signing Martin Kosnar demonstrated his goalscoring qualities by first equalising for the Fortress City side.

After ten minutes, Philipp Sappl gave the visitors their first lead at 2:1. Just under a minute and a half later, Martin Kosnar converted a penalty shot to make it 3:1 for Kufstein.

Shortly after the start of the second period, Martin Kosnar made it 4:1 for HCK, his third goal of the evening. Almost two minutes before the end of the period, Maximilian Camondo made it 5:1, effectively deciding the game in the Dragons' favour.

The young Feldkirch side coached by Head Coach Thomas Sticha did not give up and, through Tobias Reinbacher, pulled back to 2:5 four and a half minutes into the final period, while recording a small consolation by winning the final period 1:0.

EHC Crocodiles Kundl also win against HC Innsbruck II

EHC Crocodiles KundlEHC Crocodiles Kundl made a lightning start against HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie II. Sebastian Schild made it 1:0 for Head Coach Mika Pertillä's side after exactly 26 seconds.

The Young Sharks were by no means shocked by the early setback and fought back: Luca Reiter equalised in the 15th minute.

Shortly before the end of the first period, the home side retook the lead, with Daniel Mitterdorfer making it 2:1 for the Crocodiles in the 18th minute. The home side then struck again: Adrian Schuster made it 3:1 for Kundl 91 seconds after they regained the lead.

In the second period, Vladimir Dolnik gave the Crocodiles a reassuring three-goal lead. After the 4:1, Innsbruck, coached by Werner Strele, were able to make the game a little more open and Sebastian Weidacher pulled them back to 2:4 three and a half minutes before the end of the period.

The Crocodiles managed the score intelligently in the final period, while Innsbruck kept fighting, but Patrick Huber sealed the result at 5:2 four minutes from the end.

South Group: EC iDM VSV beat Spittal

In the South Group, it was Florian Lanzinger who gave the Young Eagles of EC iDM VSV on the power play to 1:0 against the EC LiWoDruck Spittal and thus opened the season in Carinthia and East Tyrol after just under four minutes of play.

In the first period, Villach showed that they have been firing on all cylinders in the ÖEHV U20 league for some time, extending their lead to 2:0 through Slovenian David Baloh, who put the puck past Hornets netminder Lukas Ameisbichler while shorthanded. After just under eight minutes, it was 3:0 to the blue-and-whites, with Florian Lanzinger scoring again.

It took a long time for head coach Florian Orzetek's side to find a solution against the speedy VSV players.

Kevin Essmann made it 1:3 to Spittal just 29 seconds into the second period. When returning player Lukas Wilblinger scored to make it 2:3, hope returned to the Eis-Sport-Arena.

However, Marco Steiner extinguished that glimmer of hope with a quick double in the 39th and 40th minutes. The home side had now completely lost their way and conceded another Villach goal. Maximilian Aumaier made it 6:2 for Günther Lanzinger's side. With three goals in one minute and six seconds, the Jungadler set themselves on course for victory.

Villach saw the game out comfortably in the final period. Spittal could only add a consolation goal through Daniel Kronig 29 seconds before the final buzzer. After 60 minutes, VSV celebrated a convincing 6:3 away win.
