HC Innsbruck secure a sensational 2:2 draw against Lukko Rauma in the first leg of the CHL round of sixteen
HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie have secured a good position ahead of the second leg in the Champions Hockey League round of sixteen: at home, the sole remaining participant from the win2day ICE Hockey League held Finnish top club Lukko Rauma to a 2:2 draw.

The Finns started strongly, looked significantly more lively in the opening period and deservedly took a 2:0 lead through Brayden Burke (12.) and Sebastian Repo (18.).
However, the “Sharks” found their game better at the start of the second period, but had to wait a long time for their first goal – and also squandered an 80-second two-man advantage around the midway point of the game. The goal that pulled them closer came 15 seconds before the end of the period, with Brady Shaw scoring following a counter-attack.
Innsbruck also matched the increasingly passive Finns well at times in the final period, had more of the game and Shaw (55.) added his second goal – again following a counter-attack – and his sixth of the current CHL campaign. The Tyroleans defended the draw in the closing minutes.
