The good news for Austria's ice hockey fans: there is still genuine NHL interest in signing Michael Grabner. The bad news: the Villach native wants to delay his decision.
At least until it is clear when the next season will actually begin – 1 January 2021 is currently being targeted as the start date. The recently turned 33-year-old is thus giving himself more time to consider which path forward is best for him and his family. Grabner informed interested teams of this, as reports from the United States reveal.
Of the franchises that could envisage signing the lightning-fast winger, only the San Jose Sharks are named. Grabner has been a free agent since the buyout of the final year of his contract with the Arizona Coyotes and is free to choose his next destination.
