Gender Trainee Programme
With the Federal Gender Trainee Programme, Federal Minister Werner Kogler is setting an example by giving young women prospects in sport and establishing them in sport on a long-term basis.

The four-year trainee programme is currently in the implementation phase: this unique "training on the job" programme is a joint initiative by the federal and provincial governments aimed at promoting equality in sport. The call for applications for the three possible training pathways
1. Sports scientist with state-certified coach training (A)
2. Sports management (B) and
3. Sports scientist/talent coach (C)
will be issued nationwide and publicly. Each year, 16 young women are to be admitted and then trained for four years. The aim is to establish them in sport. In total, 64 young women are to complete the trainee programme.
Training costs are covered by the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport through funding agreements with the eight youth development competence centres recognised by BMBWF and BMKÖS (one in each federal province, excluding Vienna), as well as the winter specialist institutions (Stams, Schladming, Saalfelden, Nordisches Ausbildungszentrum Eisenerz, Bad Hofgastein) and summer specialist institutions (ÖLSZ Südstadt), and dual career institutions (VÖN and KADA).
The trainee programme is supported by a training programme (webinars and in-person events) and regular events organised by the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport.
