Full programme: six junior national teams in action

From 2 to 8 November, six junior national teams of the Austrian Ice Hockey Association (ÖEHV) will be in action. The men's U20, U18 and U16 teams will each play a 4-nation tournament: in Aalborg (Denmark), Budapest and Győr (both Hungary).

The women's teams will hold training camps in Villach. The U18 team is preparing there for the home World Championship in January 2027, while the U16 and U14 teams are assessing players for their upcoming assignments. The men's U15/U14 development teams will reconvene in December. Here is an overview of all teams, followed by the squads.

U20 men in Denmark

The U20 national team, coached by Philipp Pinter, will play at the 4-nation tournament in Aalborg from 2 to 8 November. The opponents are hosts Denmark (Thursday, 19), Ukraine (Friday, 19) and Norway (Saturday, 11). The tournament is the final major stop before the World Championship in Budapest from 6 to 12 December. As some players based overseas are unable to take part in November, younger players will have the opportunity to showcase themselves. 25 players have been named in the squad.

U18 women in Villach

The U18 women, coached by Levente Szilagyi, will hold a training camp in Villach from 4 to 8 November, with 29 players invited. In recent weeks, they have received learning materials on the team's system and identity. These foundations are now to be consolidated on the ice. Two friendly matches against a Carinthian selection are planned to conclude the camp: on Saturday at 17 and on Sunday at 11. The training camp is an important step on the road to the home World Championship in Villach in January 2027.

U18 men in Hungary

The U18 national team, coached by Peter Schweda, will play at the 4-nation tournament in Budapest from 2 to 7 November. The opponents are Slovenia (Thursday, 15), hosts Hungary (Friday, 18:30) and Italy (Saturday, 12). The 24-strong squad includes six players based abroad, who play in the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Finland and Sweden. The season's main objective is promotion at the World Championship in Lithuania from 24 to 30 April 2027.

U16 women in Villach

The U16 women's national team, coached by Tomas Kala, will hold a selection camp in Villach from 6 to 8 November. 22 players have been invited: new faces and players who were selected for the U14 team last season. The aim of the camp is to select the squad for the four-nation tournament in Villach in December. The season highlight is the European Cup U16 in Poland at the end of April.

U16 men in Hungary

The men's U16 team, coached by Johannes Leitner, will play a 4-nation tournament in Győr, Hungary, from 2 to 7 November. The opponents are Italy (Thursday, 15), Slovenia (Friday, 15) and hosts Hungary (Saturday, 14:30). At the 4-nation tournament in Piesťany, the team already impressed with victories over Slovakia (4:3) and Germany (3:2). The season highlight is the European Youth Olympic Festival in Romania from 14 to 21 February 2027. 24 players have been named in the squad.

U14 women in Villach

Head coach Silvio Trojer has invited 52 players to the U14 women's selection camp in Villach from 4 to 6 November: 44 skaters and 8 goaltenders. Training will take place in two groups, with no games scheduled. Trojer will be supported by U16 head coach Tomas Kala, who will also assess the future talents. In December, a selection of 25 players will follow, who will play at least one international match.
