The new season is under way and fans are already flocking to ice rinks across Austria. Little wonder, given that Head Coach Roger Bader’s national team generated an enthusiasm rarely seen among Austrian ice hockey fans and a sense of fresh momentum for ice hockey in Austria last May at the World Championship in Prague, with sensational performances, historic games against Canada and Finland, securing top-division status early against Norway and finishing in tenth place.
We spoke to Head Coach Roger Bader about the extraordinary 2024 World Championship and the future, looked back on the Women's World Championship Division IA in Klagenfurt and are already looking ahead to the next highlights, starting with the Para Ice Hockey World Championship in Bangkok at the end of November and the U20 World Championship next December.
