Four Nations Tour­na­ment: Austria’s U18 women lose to Germany

The team coached by Head Coach Mario Bellina took an early 1:0 lead in the Lieser town through Hanna Pap after 87 seconds (2nd minute). Germany responded with a quick equaliser after just under three minutes of play and set the course for victory with three further goals in the opening period. 

Austria were able to keep the second period, in which neither team scored, open despite the DEB selection having the edge in the shots-on-goal statistics. In the final period, the team coached by Head Coach Sebastian Jones added three more goals and ultimately won 7:1.

Austria’s U18 women continue against Hungary on Friday, before Italy await the ÖEHV selection in the final game on Saturday afternoon from 14:30.

The tournament at the ice rink beneath the Goldeck marks the start of preparations for the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship Division IA. The date and venue have yet to be confirmed. Alongside Germany, Italy and Hungary, Austria will also face France and Norway at the World Championship.

The Four Nations Tournament is an agreement between the four nations and will be held until 2026. Austria are the hosts this year, Italy next year, and Hungary will host in 2026.
