Four home wins in the Alps Hockey League

The home teams all came out on top in Saturday's Alps Hockey League games. KHL Sisak pulled off the biggest surprise by celebrating a shutout win over Rittner Buam. The hosts also prevailed in the other three matches.

Hockey Unterland Cavaliers rounded off the regular season with a 2:1 win over EC Bregenzerwald. This secures eighth place in the standings for Unterland. The South Tyroleans built a 2:0 lead in a strong opening period. Bregenzerwald did pull one back in the middle period, but Cavaliers netminder Laurin Foppa prevented the Vorarlberg side from getting back into the game.

Acroni Jesenice beat Red Bull Hockey Juniors 4:1 to move into second place in the standings. The Slovenians took the lead on the power play in the first period against the young Salzburg side. Jesenice extended their lead to 2:0 at the start of the middle period. The visitors were unable to get back into the game thereafter. With one round remaining, Jesenice now have second place in their own hands.

KHL Sisak provided the surprise of the round with a 3:0 shutout win over Rittner Buam. After a scoreless opening period, the Croatians made it 2:0 in the second period. Vilim Rosandić impressed in the Sisak goal with some fine saves and ultimately led his team to a 3:0 victory. Rittner Buam were consequently forced to relinquish second place in the standings. Sisak, meanwhile, secured seventh place in their final regular-season game.

Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel rounded off the regular season with a convincing win over HC Meran/o. It was also the Tyroleans' final regular-season game, and they finish in fourth place. However, the visitors from Meran made the better start and took the lead in the seventh minute. Kitzbühel subsequently took full control and turned the game around to establish a 5:1 lead before the end of the first period. Meran could not get back into the game and ultimately suffered a 4:8 defeat.
