For the entire ice hockey family

On 27 June 2020, Dr Klaus Hartmann was elected as the new President at the 75th General Assembly of the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation (ÖEHV) in Villach. Together with the three Vice-Presidents, Mag. Yasmin Sarina Stepina, Dr Nicolas Stockhammer and Günther Ropatsch, Hartmann will begin the four-year term of office.

At a press conference on Thursday at the ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser in Vienna, this four-member Executive Board presented the ÖEHV's mission, its medium- and long-term visions, and its work programme and tasks for the next four years. “During our campaign for the Executive Board, we already found that Austrian ice hockey does not always pull together. One of our main tasks is to narrow this gap between the individual stakeholders and grow together as an Austrian ice hockey family,” President Dr Hartmann explained to the journalists present.

Vision:
- Run the ÖEHV like a successful business over the long term;
- Successful participation by the women's and men's national teams in the Olympic Winter Games and IIHF Top Division World Championships;
- Every child in Austria who wants to play ice hockey should have the opportunity to do so in their region at different levels.

Mission:
- Ice hockey is a meaningful leisure activity;
- Clubs and players should be provided with an attractive league environment at different levels;
- Support for officials;
- Bring as many people as possible into ice hockey;
- Be there for the ENTIRE ice hockey family.

The following arbitration award should be noted regarding the arbitration tribunal's decision on the challenge to the Executive Board election of 27 June 2020: “At the General Assembly of 27.06.2020, the arbitration tribunal, comprising Mag. Hannes Arneitz, Dr Alexander Tomanek and Dr Peter Klumpp, was elected by a simple majority. The arbitration tribunal is therefore competent for a four-year term of office, namely for the period from 27.06.2020 to 26.06.2024, to rule on all disputes arising from the association relationship, including the disputed challenge to the election concerning the election of the Executive Board. The challenge to the election of the Executive Board at the General Assembly of 27.06.2020 by all parties contesting the election, together with the application for a new election of the Executive Board, is dismissed as unfounded. The arbitration tribunal finds that the election of the Executive Board at the General Assembly of 27.06.2020 is valid and legally effective.”
