First team camp with plenty of WM expe­ri­ence and four debu­tants

Bernd Wolf, Benjamin Baumgartner, David Madlener, Erik Kirchschläger, Kilian Zündel, Nico Feldner, Dominic Zwerger and Raphael Wolf – no fewer than eight players with A-WM experience are available to Head Coach Roger Bader in week 1 of WM preparation. David Reinbacher, Austria's next NHL Draft prospect, is also involved from the outset.

The current 23-man squad also includes four debutants in Henrik Neubauer, Senna Peeters, Maximilian Rebernig and Elias Wallenta, who have been given their first opportunity to stake a claim for further duties.

Head Coach Roger Bader: “As usual, the players called up at the start are those whose clubs have already been eliminated from the play-offs. We want the players to make an impression and show their best side in the short time available. Everyone knows it pays to hit the ground running. Every player called up now has a chance of taking part in the WM. Last year, we had players who went all the way from the first team camp to the WM.”

Five training sessions are planned, with the warm-up match against Slovenia providing the highlight. The last meeting in November 2021 ended in a 2:1 overtime win for Austria. Last year, our neighbours hosted the WM Division IA, which they won convincingly with four wins from four games, and they will compete in Group B at this year's A-WM.

Czechia and Slovakia fixtures rescheduled

The away game against Czechia on 29 April has been moved from Budweis to Brno. The final warm-up match before departure for Finland, scheduled for 6 May in Bratislava, will now also take place in Trencin, Slovakia's capital.

It was announced last week that the home game against Czechia would also be moved. The new venue is Vienna. Tickets already purchased for Linz can be refunded via Ö-Ticket. Tickets for Vienna are now available via the ÖEHV-Ticketshop.
