First NHL point for ÖEHV forward Marco Kasper in Detroit Red Wings win

The 20-year-old Kasper was involved in the Red Wings' first goal in the away game in front of 17.159 at Bridgestone Arena, setting up Detroit's equaliser through Vladimir Tarasenko in the 14th minute after they had fallen 0:1 behind. The centre spent a total of 15:15 minutes on the ice and posted a +2 plus-minus rating.

Kasper, who started the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League (AHL) and recorded two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in two games, was recalled to the "Motor City" by the Red Wings only on Friday due to emergency conditions, or as it is known in the NHL, "under emergency conditions".

An "Emergency Call" is possible when the number of players available to a club falls below two goalies, six defencemen and twelve forwards due to injuries, illness or suspensions.

Marco Kasper had already played one NHL game, making his debut in the 2022/2023 season on 2 April 2023 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, when he spent 14:59 minutes on the ice. The centre suffered a fractured kneecap during that game but played on until the end.

Rossi scores for Minnesota Wild

Marco Rossi completed a perfect evening from an Austrian perspective, scoring the 1:0 with a powerful shot from the slot in the 13th minute as his Minnesota Wild faced the Columbus Blue Jackets away from home in front of 16.876 fans at Nationwide Arena.

The 23-year-old from Vorarlberg now has five points (2 goals, 3 assists) from five games and boasts a strong +5 plus-minus rating. Rossi spent a total of 17:04 minutes on the ice.
