Since the turn of the year, members of the national teams, athletes at the youth performance centres and participants in coach education and training courses have been made aware of match-fixing and betting fraud in workshops, highlighting the risks, consequences and protective mechanisms.
A few days ago, an Integrity Officer Meeting was also held for the first time, at which Chief Inspector Franz Schwarzenbacher from the Federal Criminal Police Office and Andreas Baumgartner, Integrity Officer of the ÖFB, spoke about the current betting fraud case surrounding the Fußball Regionalliga Ost.
The aim of this meeting was to connect the Integrity Officers with one another, define procedures and interfaces, and create practical added value from the experience gained through the cooperation between the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Play Fair Code over recent years.
