First career playoff point! ÖEHV captain Anna Meixner reaches PWHL final with Ottawa Charge

Meixner set up Rebecca Leslie’s opening goal, which gave Charge an early lead on a rebound, with a shot following a 2:1 situation (>>Video on YouTube). The score remained 1:0 until the end of the second period, before Emily Clark made it 2:0 just 31 seconds into the final period.

Maureen Murphy could only pull one back to make it 1:2 for Montréal Victoire, whose semi-final exit was sealed following the narrow 1:2 defeat in Game Four.

The Salzburg native spent a total of 11:52 on the ice in reaching the Walter Cup final and registered two shots on goal. In the Professional Women’s Hockey League final, Ottawa will face Minnesota Frost in a "Best of Five" series from Tuesday.

Minnesota won the PWHL’s inaugural season last year, beating Boston Fleet featuring Theresa Schafzahl in the final, and are therefore the defending champions. Now, with Anna Meixner in her debut season, a second Austrian will contest the title in the world’s best women’s league.
