In the most recent meeting between the two leading Austrian clubs, EC Graz Huskies won 3:1 away to SKN Sabres St. Pölten in mid-January. With home advantage behind them, the Styrians will be looking to build directly on that success, while the Sabres travel with revenge on their minds.

With SKN Sabres St. Pölten, KEHV Lakers, KSV Neuberg Highlanders, DEC Salzburg Eagles and EC Graz Huskies, five Austrian clubs are competing in the cross-border league this season for the first time in the history of the European Women´s Hockey League. The Sabres have already won the EWHL title six times - 2004, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
As the highest-ranked Austrian team, the Lower Austrians currently sit in 4th place in the standings, which are led by Hokiklub Budapest (HUN) with the maximum number of points. The Huskies are lurking just four points behind the Sabres and will take to the ice full of confidence following their 3:1 away win a month ago. After previously recording four consecutive victories, the Styrians have most recently suffered two defeats, while the Sabres have won their last two games.
