As in the quarter-finals, the semi-finals will be played in CHL format. The only team to progress with a fairly clear result were defending champions Hokiklub Budpaest. They beat the KEHV Lakers 5:0 twice to advance comfortably to the semi-finals. The Lakers fought hard against defeat in both games, but ultimately had to acknowledge the superiority of the Hungarian side.
The other three quarter-final ties were very close: SKP Bratislava and the SKN Sabres St. Pölten needed 72 minutes and 59 seconds before the first goal was scored. While the first game ended in a 0:0 draw, the Slovak side scored 2 goals in the second game to secure their place in the semi-finals. EC Graz Huskies prevailed 6:4 against Poland's Tauron Metropolia Silesia, knocking the third-placed team from the preliminary round out of the play-offs. MAC Budapest achieved the same result against Aisulu Almaty in the 5th-versus-4th matchup – 6:4 following a 4:1 home win and a 3:2 away defeat.
