EV Zug crowned EWHL Euro Cup champions with Leonie Kutzer and Annika Fazokas
EV Zug’s women’s team, featuring the two ÖEHV players Leonie Kutzer and Annika Fazokas, claimed the EWHL Euro Cup with a 3:2 victory over ECDC Memmingen, for whom ÖEHV goaltender Selma Luggin was in goal, in a spectacular final in front of almost 1.500 fans – an EWHL record as well as a women’s record in Zug. Zug dethroned the defending champions from Memmingen in the final.

It was a true ice hockey celebration and outstanding promotion for women’s ice hockey this weekend, as EV Zug’s women were crowned EWHL Euro Cup champions on home ice. In a spectacular final against defending champions Memmingen, Zug prevailed 3:2 in front of 1.441 ecstatic fans.
Annika Fazokas, who formed a defensive pairing with Leonie Kutzer for the winning team, gave the Swiss side a 2:1 lead during the opening period of the final. After the German defending champions, with ÖEHV goaltender Selma Luggin between the pipes, equalised at 2:2, Noemi Neubauerova sealed the result only two-and-a-half minutes from time.
MAC Budapest claim third place in derby
In the third-place game, MAC Budapest celebrated a hard-fought overtime victory in the derby against HK Budapest. After falling behind, an Alexandra Huszák double secured the bronze medal.
