Euro­pean Cup: Austria’s U16 women lose 0:5 to Germany in Ferlach

Head Coach Tomáš Kala’s team could only keep pace with the DEB selection and keep the game open in the first period of their third match at the Ferlach Ice Arena. Following a scoreless opening period, Germany took the lead through Isabell Manns exactly four seconds after the halfway point of the game in the middle period, making it 1:0 (31 min.).

In the final period, the German U16 women could no longer be stopped. Alexandra Boico struck twice to give her side a three-goal lead, first making it 2:0 (42 min.) before adding the 3:0 almost four minutes later (46 min.). Isabell Manns increased the lead to 4:0, before Alexandra Boico again scored on the power play for her third goal to seal the 5:0 final score (57 min.).

After the 0:9 defeat to Slovakia and the 2:3 overtime loss to France, Austria remain on one point after three games.
