Eishockey-Verein Linz is seeking a playing licence for the ICE Hockey League 2021/22. A corresponding application for the current season was rejected at the league general meeting in June 2020; however, the club believes it is better prepared for its second attempt.
A decision is expected within the next six to eight weeks. “We have analysed, evaluated and set the next milestones in recent weeks and months, for example the cooperation with the academy of the Upper Austrian Ice Hockey Association,” EHV president Kristine Egger was quoted as saying in a press release. “Our goal is clear: next season, we want to offer top-flight and exciting ice hockey in Linz, and we will do everything we can to achieve that.”
