DEBL season 2026/27: regular season starts on Saturday

The DEBL gets under way on 12 September. As in the previous year, with 11 teams. The title will be decided in the CHL format.

The new Damen-Eishockey-Bundesliga (DEBL) season gets under way on Saturday (12 September) at 12:15 with the clash between Graz99ers Huskies II and EAC Women Capitals. Just one day later, on Sunday (at 14), Villach Lady Hawks II face Maribor.

A total of 11 teams will once again take part – the same sides as in the previous season. Austria will be represented by DHC Icecats Linz AG, EAC Junior Capitals / Women Capitals, Graz99ers Huskies II, EC-KAC Frauen and Villach Lady Hawks II.

They will be joined by Hungarian representatives FTC Telekom, Hokiklub Budapest II, MAC Budapest and Rampage Women's Hockey, as well as Hokejski Klub Siscia (Croatia) and Hokejsko Drsalni Klub Maribor (Slovenia).

During the regular season, each team will play a total of 20 games in a home-and-away format. The playoffs in the CHL format will follow. The regular season ends on 28 February 2027, before the playoffs begin the following weekend.

There is added significance for three Austrian teams: EC-KAC Frauen, EAC Women Capitals and Sportunion DHC Icecats Linz AG are also competing for the final available place in the AWHL qualification round. The best Austrian DEBL team will face the sides that finish fourth and fifth in the AWHL regular season. The reward, at the end of February, is a ticket to the EWHL Final Four tournament.
