Damen Eishockey Bundesliga 2 gets its new season under way this weekend
The wait is over: Damen Eishockey Bundesliga 2 (DEBL2) is now under way too! The new season begins on Saturday, 26 October – National Day. The IceCats LinzAG II/Sabres II joint team, which is new to the competition this year, faces EC Graz Huskies III. A total of six teams are competing in the 2nd Damen Bundesliga this year!

Two more games follow on Sunday. Runners-up Red Angels Innsbruck take on SC Samina Hohenems 1974, while defending champions SPG Kitzbühel/Kufstein play EC-KAC Damen II, with the Red Jackets also new to the league.
The first major clash follows as early as the second matchday, when champions SPG Kitzbühel/Kufstein face runners-up Red Angels Innsbruck.
Format
The format features a double round robin, meaning that each club plays 10 games in the regular season. This is followed by a Final Four featuring two semi-finals, a third-place game and the DEBL2 championship final.
