Contract exten­sion between ÖEHV and ICE

Due to the pandemic situation, the agreement between ÖEHV and the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League will essentially be extended in its current form by one season (the 2021/2022 season).

As a first step, however, it was agreed to reduce the number of U22 transfer card players by 1 (from 3 to 2) and the number of U24 transfer card players by 1 (from 2 to 1) for the 2021/22 season. The maximum number of ‘senior transfer card players’ remains unchanged at 10.

It was also agreed that ÖEHV and the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League will develop a joint future strategy for cooperation and the further development of Austrian ice hockey. Working groups will be established for this purpose. President Dr Klaus Hartmann and President KR Jochen Pildner-Steinburg will jointly chair the project.

The two chairmen will each determine the participants in the working groups.

In addition to the gradual reduction of transfer card players, the joint vision includes the parallel development and implementation of a joint future strategy.

It was also agreed that there will be an ongoing institutional exchange between ÖEHV and the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League from autumn 2021.

The plan is to have an agreed concept in place by the end of the 1st quarter of 2022, together with a new cooperation agreement commencing with the 2022/2023 season.
