Coaches’ mentoring in Vienna and Linz

This week, mentoring sessions for coaches from the Vienna and Linz regions were held under the leadership of the respective win2day ICE Hockey League club and regional association, together with Florian Mühlstein, ÖEHV Head of Youth Development Training. Parent evenings were also held in advance to provide the players’ mothers and fathers with input and insight into the ÖEHV’s responsibilities.

Training planning, the role of the national and representative teams, a review of the November break, and the role of the coach were the key topics of the mentoring sessions.

Florian Mühlstein provided a detailed overview of the ÖEHV’s responsibilities and challenges, and addressed the clubs’ regional circumstances.

The key topics were primarily the role of the coaches and the ÖEHV representative teams. These topics had also been clearly communicated to parents in advance.

Florian Mühlstein: “We are continually working to improve and develop further. In order to establish ourselves in the top division in the medium term with all youth national teams as well as the senior national team, we need well-trained coaches, but also the knowledge and understanding of parents and everyone involved regarding the association’s responsibilities and objectives. Coaches’ mentoring provides us with the ideal framework to report on the current situation and transfer knowledge.”
